A few days ago we visited the Dallas Arboretum that had incredible gardens with a multitude of flowers all in bloom!
The weather was gorgeous: a warm sun with a slight breeze and incredibly blue skies. Naturally, this attracted a lot of people from the Dallas area. While a bit crowded in some areas, it was a lovely walk and a great chance to admire and celebrate the arrival of spring.
My personal favorites were the tulips…The Arboretum was filled with them and I felt compelled to stop at each spot and try my best to capture their essence.
The gardens also have several spots where they serve food. But in case you plan ahead (we forgot) you can bring in food and beverages (even wine) for a lovely picnic on the green grass. It is a lovely atmosphere and great way to relax and get away from the daily stresses.

Last weekend we went to Spiceman’s - the coolest store with homegrown products. It was my first time here and I fell in love with the simple and down-to-earth atmosphere inside.
We mostly went in to get the mushrooms (picture below), which are the best mushrooms you will ever taste!

If you live in the Dallas area, you will notice that quite a few of the best gourmet-restaurants serve food made with Spiceman’s products.
We drove past the majestic skyscrapers, into the melting sunset, as I felt myself fully enraptured by the city which I yearned to call home.
